Acrylic (24 X 30)"
Artists Comment:
This painting was done on my annual visit to Florida. As I worked on the
painting, birds perched in the trees seemed to be telling me that I was an
intruder and not welcome. I can imagine the excitement, curiosity, and resentment
that I created by invading their space. And so it is with the Bobber!

The painting surface consists of my usual pieces of cast off material, but in this case I also used material such as sand, shells, palm tree parts and even a bug or two that made a mistake of traversing the wet acrylic. I try to incorporate materials from the place where the birds live. Somehow, I think the materials contain the spirit or secrets of the bird place. My job as an artist is simple, all I have to do is provide a forum for the material to speak!
