"Mexican Market"

Watercolor (10 X 12)"

Artists Comment:
I remember the time I spent in Taxco. An old hotel with open windows, no screens and the fresh mountain air. The rooster crowing to greet the sunrise. The tile roof tops, narrow streets and the colorful market place. This is one of my favorite Mexican cities. This painting is called a "reverse painting" since it was painted on the back side of clear plastic film. I like to do this to achieve greatly enhanced color saturation. Sometimes, I will paint on both the front and the back. This creates a 3-D effect that has baffled many art show jurors.
